Czechia joins artificial intelligence development: Investing in a new European supercomputer
The Czech Republic is becoming part of an ambitious European project designed to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence research. The European Joint Undertaking EuroHPC recently signed a contract with the French company Bull for the delivery of a new supercomputer named LUMI-AI. The Czech Republic is participating in this project, thereby securing access to the most advanced technologies in the field.
The total value of the contract for the acquisition of this powerful machine exceeds nine billion Czech crowns. The LUMI-AI supercomputer will primarily serve scientists and researchers who require immense computing power to train complex artificial intelligence models. Thanks to these parameters, the device ranks among the world leaders in the field of computing technology.
Involvement in the EuroHPC project is a strategic move for the Czech Republic. Experts emphasize that access to such powerful hardware is crucial for the development of Czech research and innovation. It will allow domestic experts to work on projects that would have been impossible to realize without such infrastructure.
The project represents a significant milestone in European cooperation. The goal is to ensure that Europe does not fall behind global powers such as the USA or China in the field of artificial intelligence. Czech participation in this program confirms the country's effort to actively contribute to technological progress within the European Union.
