University Hospital Brno has introduced its specialized team called the Czech Emergency Response Team, abbreviated as CZERT EMT 1. This team is prepared to provide expert medical assistance in situations involving major emergencies or natural disasters, not only within the territory of the Czech Republic but also abroad.
The unit is composed of highly qualified experts from various medical fields. The main areas the team focuses on include surgery and traumatology, which are crucial for addressing the aftermath of accidents. In addition to these, the team also includes experts in internal medicine, intensive care, and pediatrics.
Gynecology and obstetrics are also part of the equipment and staffing. This broad specialization allows the CZERT EMT 1 team to function as a full-fledged mobile hospital, capable of providing comprehensive patient care directly in the field, even under challenging conditions outside of standard medical facilities.
