European Union has sent Ukraine the first billions of euros from a new loan
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced that Ukraine has received the first part of financial aid from the EU loan. The total amount that has now been sent is 3.2 billion euros, which is equivalent to more than 77 billion Czech crowns.
This financial support is part of a broader European Union plan to help Ukraine during the ongoing war conflict. The money is primarily intended to ensure the basic functioning of the state, such as the payment of pensions, salaries for public employees, or the operation of hospitals and schools.
The European Union has long been striving for stable economic assistance to Kyiv. This specific loan is part of a package that EU member states agreed upon to prevent the collapse of the Ukrainian economy. The Czech Republic, as an active member of the union, has long supported this approach.
Further amounts from the agreed loan will be sent to Ukraine gradually, depending on the fulfillment of established conditions. The European Commission will continue to monitor how these funds are used to ensure their maximum efficiency and transparency.
