Czech Republic increases security due to threats from Iran
The Czech Republic is currently implementing new security measures. The reason for this is specific threats concerning certain institutions in Prague. According to information available to security forces, these threats are primarily targeting radio stations that broadcast abroad.
The Ministry of the Interior and the police are monitoring the situation very closely. Although the authorities have not yet released all the details, they confirm that security forces are on alert. The goal of these steps is to ensure the protection of media employees and ordinary citizens in the capital.
According to security experts, these threats are related to the tense political situation in Iran. The regime in Tehran has long criticized foreign media that report on events in the country from the outside. The Czech Republic has thus become one of the targets due to its stance on human rights and its support for free broadcasting.
The police have currently strengthened patrols around high-risk facilities. However, residents of Prague should not fear any immediate danger, as the situation is under control. Authorities are calling for public calm and recommend following official reports from the police and the Ministry of the Interior.
The Czech government emphasizes that freedom of speech remains a priority and will not be intimidated by external pressures. Security measures will remain in effect as long as the threat persists. The state administration will continue to evaluate the situation in close cooperation with the intelligence services.
