Czech Team CZERT: Preparedness for Crisis Situations and International Aid
University Hospital Brno has presented the activities of its specialized team called the Czech Emergency Response Team (CZERT), which holds the EMT 1 designation. This team is a key component of Czech preparedness for emergencies, whether they involve natural disasters, epidemics, or other crisis situations requiring rapid medical assistance.
Unit EMT 1 is designed to provide highly professional care directly in the field. Its capabilities cover a wide range of medical disciplines, including surgery and traumatology, which are essential for treating injured persons. The team is equipped to ensure the stabilization of patients in challenging conditions outside of a standard hospital environment.
In addition to surgical care, the team also focuses on internal medicine, gynecology, obstetrics, and pediatrics. Thanks to the presence of intensive care specialists, CZERT is able to provide care even to patients in critical condition. This complexity ensures that the team can effectively assist various groups of the population, including children and pregnant women, which is crucial in crisis situations.
The existence of such an equipped and trained team increases the safety of the citizens of the Czech Republic. At the same time, CZERT represents the ability of the Czech healthcare system to respond quickly and professionally to needs not only domestically, but also abroad if necessary, where it can provide essential humanitarian aid.
