The Czech Republic is sending helicopters to help burning Serbia
The Czech Republic has decided to actively assist Serbia, which has been battling extensive forest fires in recent days. Two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, equipped with special technology for extinguishing fires in difficult-to-reach terrain, will head to the site of the disaster.
The decision to send aid came after Serbian authorities requested international support. Wildfires in the region are spreading very quickly, primarily due to high temperatures and dry weather. The deployment of the Czech machines should significantly facilitate the work of local rescue services.
Black Hawk helicopters are known for their high efficiency in extinguishing large-scale fires because they can transport large quantities of water directly to the heart of the flames. Along with the equipment, a team of experienced pilots and specialists, who have many years of practice with similar crisis situations, is also departing for Serbia.
This mission is another example of international cooperation within the framework of European civil protection. The Czech Republic thus once again confirms its readiness to help allies and neighboring countries in the event of natural disasters that exceed the capabilities of national rescue capacities.
