European Union has sent Ukraine the first billions of euros from a new loan

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has officially announced that Ukraine has received the first part of financial aid from an EU loan. The total sum that has now been sent amounts to 3.2 billion euros, which is equivalent to over 77 billion Czech koruna.

These funds are part of a broader support plan through which the European Union is trying to help Ukraine in its current difficult situation. The money is primarily intended to ensure the functioning of the state and to finance the necessary expenses that the country needs to cover due to the ongoing conflict.

The European Union has long declared its support for Kyiv, both in the humanitarian and economic spheres. This specific transfer is an important step within the approved loan package, which was agreed upon by EU member states, including the Czech Republic.

The news about the financial aid comes at a time when European countries are trying to maintain the stability of the Ukrainian economy. Further parts of the financial support should follow in the coming months according to the established schedule and the fulfillment of conditions set by the European Commission.
