Czech Republic faces increased risk of cyberattacks from Russia
According to security experts and politicians, the Czech Republic is in a state reminiscent of the Cold War. The main reason is the growing activity of Russia, which is currently linked to a number of espionage and sabotage operations across Europe. This situation is raising serious concerns about the security of Czech institutions and critical infrastructure.
The German Interior Ministry recently confirmed that Russian intelligence services are behind many incidents in European countries. These activities include not only cyberattacks but also physical sabotage, such as the drone incident in August. According to security analysts, similar threats could target locations in the Czech Republic at any time.
In connection with this situation, former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš warned that the Czech Republic could be a direct target of these attacks. According to him, it is necessary to take the warnings of European partners very seriously and strengthen the state's defensive capabilities in the digital space. Cybersecurity is thus becoming one of the priorities for protecting the country's stability.
State authorities have been monitoring increased activity by suspicious groups in cyberspace for some time. Experts recommend that public institutions and private companies not underestimate the security of their systems and regularly update their security protocols. The situation remains tense, and security forces are on alert to prevent any potential attacks in time.
