Tesla receives approval for partially autonomous driving in the Czech Republic
The Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic has officially recognized the provisional approval of the Tesla FSD assistance system. This system enables partial driving automation, meaning the vehicle can take control of steering in certain situations with the driver's assistance.
The FSD (Full Self-Driving) technology is known for using cameras and artificial intelligence to monitor surrounding traffic. Thanks to this decision by the authorities, drivers in the Czech Republic can now encounter this system on public roads. However, it remains the case that the driver must be fully attentive and prepared to intervene in the driving at any time.
The introduction of this system to the Czech market is part of a broader trend of digitalization and automation in transport. The Ministry of Transport will now monitor how the technology performs in real Czech traffic conditions and what users' experiences are regarding its safety.
Experts point out that despite the system's advanced features, the responsibility for the vehicle always remains with the person behind the wheel. Tesla FSD is not yet a fully autonomous system that would not require supervision, and therefore drivers must comply with all applicable traffic rules.
This decision represents an important step for the development of modern technologies in domestic transport. In the coming months, further discussions are expected regarding the rules for using similar assistance systems on Czech highways and in urban traffic.
