The Czech Republic is struggling to utilize modern technologies in defense
The Czech Republic is currently unable to effectively utilize new technologies in the field of defense. According to the head of a major NATO accelerator focused on supporting innovation, the state is not even taking advantage of the opportunities that are available for free. This problem is hindering the modernization of the army and the integration of Czech companies into international structures.
NATO's accelerator helps startups find their way to key partners and connects them with the entire defense ecosystem. The organization actively seeks to present Czech innovators at foreign exhibitions and professional events so they can gain the necessary contacts and experience. Nevertheless, the process of participating in these programs remains challenging for many Czech entities.
According to experts, the main obstacle is the lack of readiness on the part of the state and companies to rapidly implement new technologies in practice. While cooperation between the military, the state, and technology companies is common abroad, this system is not yet fully functional in the Czech environment. As a result, many innovative ideas remain untapped, even though they could significantly strengthen the country's security capabilities.
The situation requires better communication between state institutions and the private sector. If the Czech Republic wants to keep pace with other NATO members, it must learn to make better use of the opportunities offered. Successful integration of modern technologies into the defense industry is crucial for the future stability and defense capability of the state.
