Czech Republic Assists France: Two Helicopters Battle Extensive Wildfires
The Czech Republic has actively joined in assisting France, which is currently battling extensive forest fires. A second Czech helicopter departed for the southern part of the country today to support local firefighters. This assistance is part of international cooperation in addressing natural disasters within the European Union.
The primary target for the Czech aircraft is the area around the city of Valence. This region in southern France is facing intense fires that have been difficult to bring under control due to dry weather and wind. The Czech helicopters are equipped with special water buckets, which allow for effective aerial firefighting even in locations inaccessible to standard ground equipment.
For the Czech pilots and rescue teams, this mission represents an important experience in an international environment. The Czech Republic has its own experience with large forest fires, such as those in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. Now, it can utilize its knowledge and modern technology to help another country currently in a crisis situation.
It is expected that the Czech rescuers will remain in France for as long as their assistance is needed on the ground. This solidarity between European states is key to the rapid and successful management of natural disasters. Czech aid is very welcome in France and confirms the high professional level of our emergency services.
