European Union plans to build artificial intelligence centers, Czech Republic also interested
The European Union has announced an ambitious plan to support the development of modern technologies. The goal is to build up to seven large data centers across member states that will serve exclusively for the needs of artificial intelligence. The union intends to release billions of euros from European funds for this project.
These new centers are intended to ensure that Europe does not fall behind the United States or China in the field of digital technology. Modern infrastructure is key to the development of complex algorithms that are used today by companies, scientists, and public administration. The project should also help with the energy demands required by the operation of such powerful computers.
The Czech Republic has also expressed interest in hosting one of these centers. The government and experts believe that our country has suitable conditions for such a project, primarily thanks to sufficient capacity in the IT sector and the experience of our experts. If the Czech Republic were to succeed in the competition, it would mean a significant investment and new job opportunities for the domestic technology sector.
The selection process will now take place under the supervision of European institutions. Interested parties will have to demonstrate not only technical readiness but also the ability to ensure the sustainable operation of the centers. A decision on exactly where the new data centers will be located is expected in the coming months.
