The European Union has sent the first part of a multi-billion loan to Ukraine

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced that Ukraine has received the first funds from a new EU loan. The total amount is 3.2 billion euros, which is equivalent to more than 77 billion Czech crowns.

This money is intended to help the Ukrainian state cover basic expenses during the ongoing war. In doing so, the European Union is striving to ensure the stability of the Ukrainian economy and support the functioning of key institutions in the country.

The financial aid is part of a broader support package agreed upon by European Union member states, including the Czech Republic. The goal of this long-term strategy is to ensure that Ukraine has sufficient resources for infrastructure repairs and the provision of public services for its citizens.

The European Commission will continue with further fund transfers in the coming months according to the established plan. The entire operation is under strict supervision to ensure that the funds are used effectively and transparently.
