Czech government plans: EU funds after 2028 to support transport and energy
The Czech government is preparing a strategy for the use of European subsidies in the next programming period. According to current information, financial resources from the European Union after 2028 should primarily be directed toward key areas such as the modernization of transport infrastructure and the development of the energy sector.
The cabinet's goal is to ensure that investments help the Czech economy in the long term. The focus on energy is intended to support the transition to cleaner energy sources and increase the country's energy self-sufficiency. In the area of transport, plans primarily include the completion of important motorway sections and the modernization of railway lines, which are essential for connecting regions.
Discussions regarding priorities are taking place within the ministries and also take into account the requirements of the European Commission. The Commission is placing increasing emphasis on digitalization, ecology, and innovation. Therefore, the Czech Republic is trying to find a balance between these European standards and the specific needs of Czech citizens and businesses.
The final form of the funding allocation will depend on negotiations with Brussels. The government believes that setting the right priorities will help the Czech Republic better face future economic challenges and improve the quality of life across the entire country.
