The Czech Republic is struggling to utilize modern technologies in defense
The Czech Republic is currently unable to fully exploit the potential of new technologies in the field of defense. According to international experts, this problem is evident even in cases where modern solutions are available for free or through international programs.
The head of a prominent NATO accelerator, which focuses on supporting innovative companies, points out that Czech startups often lack sufficient connection to the international defense ecosystem. Even though there are opportunities to get involved in global projects, Czech entities struggle to effectively establish themselves in this environment.
The role of accelerators is to help startups with presentations at foreign exhibitions and professional events. The goal is to connect developers of new technologies with people who make purchasing decisions in the military sector. Without this connection, innovative ideas remain purely theoretical and do not reach practical application.
Improving the situation requires closer cooperation between the state, private companies, and international organizations such as NATO. If the Czech Republic wants to better protect its interests and support its domestic technology industry in the future, it must learn to more actively seek out and utilize the opportunities offered.
