Volunteers in Duchcov cleaned up nature: Local Sokol members also joined the effort
Residents of Duchcov joined the nationwide volunteer initiative "Let's Clean Up the Czech Republic" over the weekend. The goal of this event is to clear public spaces, parks, and forests of litter left behind by inconsiderate people. Dozens of local citizens, who wanted to improve the appearance of their surroundings, took part in the cleanup.
The local Sokol organization expressed great support for the project. Members of this physical education association arrived in large numbers to help collect plastic, glass, and other debris alongside the other volunteers. Their participation demonstrates how important the cooperation of local associations is in caring for public spaces.
The "Let's Clean Up the Czech Republic" event takes place annually across the entire country, with thousands of people participating. Beyond the cleanup itself, the main goal of the project is also awareness. The organizers want to highlight the problem of environmental pollution and motivate residents to treat their surroundings more responsibly.
Similar initiatives have a long tradition in the Czech Republic and enjoy great popularity. Thanks to the enthusiasm of volunteers, tons of waste are removed from nature every year. The Duchcov cleanup thus once again confirmed that people in Czech towns care about a clean environment.
