Czechia wants to host the Ice Hockey World Championship again
The Czech Ice Hockey Association has announced an ambitious plan. Following the great success of the recent tournaments held in Prague and Ostrava, Czechia wants to host another Ice Hockey World Championship as soon as possible. The association is striving to shorten the interval between individual championships held on our territory.
The last tournaments in the Czech Republic brought record attendance and became a major sporting and social event. Fans created a fantastic atmosphere in the arenas, which was also appreciated by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It is precisely because of this positive feedback that the leadership of Czech hockey believes the country has a great chance of success in its bid.
Organizers are now preparing a strategy to convince international bodies of the quality of Czech stadiums and infrastructure. Investments in the modernization of arenas in Prague and Brno, which are crucial for hosting such a large event, also play a major role. Hundreds of millions of crowns are intended to ensure that the sports venues meet the strictest global standards.
It is not yet clear in which year the next championship could take place in Czechia. The selection process for a host country is long and demanding, as other nations are also interested in the tournament. Nevertheless, the Czech side is optimistic and believes that the hockey championship will return to Czechia sooner than originally planned.
