A family tragedy in Zulms results in three victims and the son surviving with minor injuries.
On Saturday, police in the small town of Zolms in the central state of Hesse discovered a tragic scene after finding three bodies inside a residential home. Authorities confirmed that the victims belonged to one family — the father, mother, and daughter. Investigators have identified the 55-year-old mother as the main suspect in the crime. Initial reports indicate that she killed her 55-year-old husband and their 18-year-old daughter before taking her own life.
The 20-year-old son managed to escape from the house despite his minor injuries and was taken to the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. The police and the prosecutor's office in the city of Vitslar confirmed that his condition is stable and does not pose a danger to his life.
The circumstances of the deaths are still under investigation. While the cause of death of the father and daughter has not been officially determined yet, preliminary evidence suggests that the daughter may have been killed by poisoning. Authorities have not yet revealed how the other two victims died.
A spokesperson for the public prosecutor's office said: "It is a horrific tragedy," expressing the shock experienced by the authorities and the local community. Officials confirmed that there is no danger threatening the residents, as the suspect is among the dead.
The police had received several emergency calls before eleven o'clock in the morning from the Nieder Bell neighborhood in Solms, where witnesses reported the presence of an injured person in the yard of a house, prompting an urgent response from police forces and emergency services. Authorities continue their investigations to understand the reasons that led to this devastating family tragedy.
