Syrian teenager threatens swimming pool guard in Vienna with murder
On one of the hottest days of the year, a concerning incident occurred at the Stadionbad pool in the Prater area of Vienna, where two teenagers - one a 14-year-old Syrian and the other a 17-year-old Afghan - attempted to enter the pool without paying for a ticket.
The two young men tried to sneak through a closed gate to reach the pool, but one of the staff saw them and immediately called a security guard, who is 55 years old, due to the aggressive behavior of the teenagers.
What happened next shocked everyone, as the young Syrian threatened the security guard saying: "I will slit your throat," and gestured in a way that suggested he was carrying a knife in his pants.
The security guard immediately informed the police, and a search operation was launched. Within a short time, a patrol from the Ausstellungsstraße police managed to stop the two young men. The Syrian was temporarily arrested, but no sharp object was found in his possession, which suggests that he disposed of it before his arrest.
The teenager refused to make any statements, and based on a decision from the public prosecutor's office in Wien, he was released and later presented for legal accountability.
