Urgent warning from the Netherlands to its citizens in the Middle East
The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an official warning to its citizens in Iran and other parts of the Middle East, following airstrikes carried out by the United States on Iranian nuclear facilities, which has led to heightened tensions with Israel.
The ministry urged Dutch citizens in Iran, Iraq, Israel, and the Palestinian territories to avoid crowded places and potential targets, noting the increased risk of security escalation in the region. The warning was published via the ministry's official account on platform X (formerly Twitter).
The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised its citizens in conflict areas to keep their relatives and friends informed about their whereabouts and safety. They can also contact the "Netherlands Worldwide" call center in case of any emergency.
The ministry emphasized the necessity for Dutch citizens to register in its information service to receive immediate updates on the developments, especially those facing difficulties in leaving Iran, Iraq, Israel, or the West Bank.
The ministry confirmed that if it is impossible to leave the area, citizens should notify it through the registration service to obtain possible support.
