Quito Authorities Suspend Clandestine Party with One Thousand Attendees
Authorities in the Ecuadorian capital shut down an unauthorized massive party in the Conocoto sector, in the Valle de los Chillos. The event, which took place on a private estate-style property, gathered nearly a thousand people in conditions that did not comply with current safety regulations.
During the control operation, agents discovered that at least 200 minors were among the attendees. These young people were at the location without the supervision of responsible adults, which prompted the immediate intervention of municipal officials to ensure their well-being and safety.
These types of events, known as clandestine parties, represent a growing problem for the city. According to official reports, between the months of January and May, 22 sanctioning processes have been initiated against organizers of unauthorized gatherings in different parts of Quito.
Local authorities explained that these inspections are part of a strategy to reduce risks associated with alcohol consumption and the lack of emergency measures in places not suitable for massive events. The absence of legal permits carries severe fines and the permanent closure of the involved establishments.
Finally, the municipality reminded citizens of the importance of verifying that any celebration has the corresponding authorizations. Controls will continue over the coming months to prevent the recurrence of situations that endanger the community, especially the younger sectors of the population.
