Egypt strengthens partnerships to localize vaccine manufacturing during the Africa Health ExCon
The fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026 witnessed a prominent participation by the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), where Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Authority, emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in the health sector.
This participation aims to support new strategic partnerships focused primarily on localizing the vaccine industry within Egypt and the African continent. This step comes as part of the Egyptian state's efforts to transfer advanced medical technology and develop local capabilities in this vital field.
These partnerships are part of a broader strategy to enhance health security in Africa and reduce reliance on importing medicines and vaccines from abroad. It is expected that these agreements will contribute to meeting the needs of Egyptian and African citizens for essential vaccines with high quality and affordable prices.
These efforts confirm Egypt's commitment to its leading role in supporting the health sector on the African continent by exchanging scientific and technical expertise with partner countries and specialized international institutions.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants stressed the necessity of continued coordination between African countries to face future health challenges and ensure the provision of necessary medical care for all African peoples.
