President Sisi: Egypt has not used the refugee file as a political pressure card
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that the Egyptian state has never resorted to using the refugee issue as a means to achieve any political goals or special gains. These statements came within the framework of Egypt's emphasis on its moral and humanitarian commitment toward its guests of various nationalities living on its land.
President Sisi stressed that Egypt hosts millions of refugees and provides them with basic services such as education and healthcare, just as it provides them to Egyptian citizens. He pointed out that this stance stems from the deep-rooted values of the Egyptian people in welcoming others and providing aid to those in need during times of crisis.
In a related context, President Sisi called on the international community to activate the principle of "burden-sharing" more effectively. He explained that dealing with the refugee crisis requires genuine international cooperation to support host countries that bear significant economic pressures as a result of hosting large numbers of displaced persons.
These statements come at a time when global economic challenges are increasing, placing additional responsibility on countries that open their doors to refugees. Through these messages, Egypt emphasizes the importance of international solidarity to ensure a decent life for refugees and to alleviate the burdens on host countries.
