Ministry of Health: Over 790,000 newborns screened for genetic diseases
The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population has announced the successful screening of 792,592 newborns as part of the presidential initiative for the early detection of genetic diseases in newborns.
This initiative operates under the "100 Million Healthy Lives" slogan and aims to protect children from serious genetic diseases that could impact their growth and health in the future. The initiative relies on conducting precise and comprehensive screenings for newborns immediately after birth to detect any health issues at an early stage.
The Ministry emphasized that early detection helps doctors provide appropriate treatment for children more quickly, which contributes to improving their quality of life and reducing the complications of genetic diseases. The state provides these medical services in specialized centers equipped with the latest medical devices across all Egyptian governorates.
The Ministry of Health urges all parents to ensure these screenings are performed for their newborns to safeguard their well-being and ensure they grow up healthy and sound, confirming that the initiative continues to provide its services to all citizens throughout the Republic.
