Egyptian Drug Authority reviews strategy for developing the medical sector until 2030
The Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority participated in the activities of the fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026, where he reviewed the features of the ambitious national strategy to develop the pharmaceutical sector in Egypt over the coming years.
This strategy is based on five main pillars aimed at strengthening Egypt's position as a leading regional hub in the pharmaceutical industry. These steps come within the framework of the country's Vision 2030, which seeks to improve the level of health services and provide high-quality medicines to citizens.
The Chairman of the Authority noted that the Egyptian pharmaceutical market is growing significantly, with its current value reaching approximately 8.5 billion US dollars. The Authority is working to support investments in this vital sector, facilitate drug registration procedures, and encourage local and international companies to increase their production within Egypt.
This participation in the Africa Health ExCon is an important opportunity to exchange experiences with African countries and enhance cooperation in the field of healthcare. The Authority reaffirms its commitment to applying the highest international standards to ensure the safety and efficacy of medicines circulating in the Egyptian market.
In conclusion, the Egyptian Drug Authority seeks through these plans to strengthen pharmaceutical security in the country and provide citizens' needs for medicines and medical supplies, which directly contributes to supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development in the health sector.
