Egypt Explores Strengthening Cooperation with Danish Companies in the Medical Device Sector
The fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026 witnessed an important meeting between the Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) and a delegation of major Danish companies. This meeting aimed to explore opportunities for joint cooperation and attract foreign investment to the healthcare sector in Egypt.
During the meeting, Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, reviewed the significant developments currently taking place in the pharmaceutical and medical supplies market in Egypt. He emphasized that the Egyptian state pays special attention to developing this vital sector to ensure the provision of the best medical services to citizens.
Both parties also discussed the possibility of exchanging technological expertise in the field of manufacturing medical devices and supplies. The Egyptian side pointed to the facilities provided by the Authority to foreign investors, with the aim of localizing modern medical industries within Egypt and reducing reliance on imports.
This step comes within the framework of Egypt's strategy to strengthen its position as a regional hub for medical industries in Africa and the Middle East. It is expected that these partnerships will contribute to providing advanced medical technologies that serve Egyptian hospitals and support the national health system.
