Egypt explores strengthening cooperation with Danish companies in the medical device sector
The fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026 witnessed an important meeting between the Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) and a delegation from major Danish companies specializing in the medical sector. This meeting comes as part of Egypt's efforts to develop its healthcare system and attract more foreign investment to the local market.
During the meeting, Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the EDA, reviewed the significant developments currently taking place in the pharmaceutical and medical supplies sector in Egypt. Al-Ghamrawi emphasized the importance of the Authority's role in improving the quality of medical products and streamlining procedures for international investors to ensure the availability of the latest medical technologies for citizens.
For their part, representatives of the Danish companies expressed great interest in the investment opportunities available in Egypt, especially in the field of manufacturing advanced medical devices and supplies. The delegation praised the infrastructure provided by the Egyptian state, confirming their desire to transfer Danish technological expertise to the Egyptian market to support the health sector.
This cooperation is a positive step toward strengthening Egypt's position as a regional hub for medical industries on the African continent. It is expected that these discussions will lead to new partnerships that contribute to localizing the medical device industry, which will help reduce costs and provide better healthcare for Egyptians in the near future.
