Egyptian Drug Authority Launches Opinion Poll on New Electronic Submission System
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has announced the launch of a public opinion poll regarding the draft of the new regulatory guideline for electronic submission of technical files (eCTD). This step comes as part of the Authority's efforts to develop its digital services and improve operational efficiency in the pharmaceutical sector within Egypt.
The Egyptian Drug Authority is the entity responsible for regulating and monitoring the quality, efficacy, and safety of medical products in the country. The Authority reports directly to the Prime Minister, reflecting the importance of its role in ensuring that safe and effective medicines reach Egyptian citizens.
The new regulatory guideline aims to facilitate the procedures for submitting technical documents for companies and factories operating in the pharmaceutical field. By transitioning to an electronic submission system, the Authority hopes to reduce the time and effort required for file review, in addition to enhancing transparency in administrative dealings.
The Authority is opening the poll to all stakeholders in the pharmaceutical sector, as it seeks to gather feedback and suggestions before the final approval of the guideline. The Authority emphasizes that the opinions of experts and specialists will contribute significantly to shaping an electronic system that aligns with international standards and serves the interests of the Egyptian market.
This initiative is part of the Egyptian state's plan for digital transformation across all vital sectors. It is expected that the implementation of this new system will accelerate the pace of registration for medicines and medical products, thereby contributing to supporting investment in this vital sector and providing medicines to patients more quickly.
