Egypt moves to establish a gold bank in cooperation with the African Export-Import Bank
The Egyptian government is currently planning to take new steps to strengthen the precious metals sector by working to establish a specialized gold bank. This initiative comes in cooperation with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), with the aim of regulating the gold market in the country and providing new mechanisms for investment.
This project aims to support the Egyptian economy by increasing the strategic gold reserve and facilitating the trading of the yellow metal in accordance with global standards. The new bank is expected to contribute to attracting more foreign investment and providing innovative financial instruments for investors in the local market.
This step comes within the framework of the state's strategy to diversify national income sources and enhance financial stability. Through this partnership, officials also aspire to reduce reliance on hard currency and provide safe alternatives for citizens and institutions to preserve the value of their savings.
Technical and operational details of the bank are expected to be announced in the coming months after the necessary studies are completed. This step confirms Egypt's keenness to strengthen its economic relations with African and international institutions to support sustainable development plans.
