Breakthrough in the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Market: 95% of Shortage Medications Now Available
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has announced a major breakthrough in the local pharmaceutical market, as part of the state's efforts to provide essential medications to citizens. The Authority confirmed its success in making 95% of the medications that had been experiencing shortages in the market over the past period available.
This step involves pumping approximately 81 million new medicine packs into pharmacies and hospitals across the country. These large quantities aim to meet the needs of patients and ensure the continuous and regular availability of treatment.
These new medications cover a wide range of chronic diseases, most notably treatments for diabetes and high blood pressure. These medications are considered essential items that millions of Egyptian citizens need on a daily basis to maintain their health.
In addition, the Egyptian Drug Authority has provided a special hotline to receive citizens' inquiries regarding the availability of medications. The Authority encourages patients to contact this line if they face any difficulty in obtaining their pharmaceutical needs.
These measures come as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at regulating the pharmaceutical market in Egypt and preventing the monopolization or shortage of vital items. The Authority affirms that it is continuously monitoring the markets to ensure that medication reaches all patients in various governorates.
