New collaboration between Huawei and AIS to manufacture energy storage systems in Egypt
Global company Huawei and the Egyptian company AIS have signed a new memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing the local manufacturing of battery energy storage systems in Egypt. This step comes within the framework of the Egyptian state's pursuit to develop the renewable energy sector and rely on modern technology to ensure the stability of the electrical grid.
This partnership focuses primarily on manufacturing energy storage systems that rely on "Grid-Forming" technology. This is a highly advanced technology that helps maintain electrical current stability when integrating renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, into the national grid.
It is expected that this collaboration will contribute to localizing the technology industry within Egypt, which will help reduce reliance on imports and provide new job opportunities for Egyptian youth and engineers. The partnership also aims to enhance the capacity of the country's energy infrastructure to meet the growing demand for electricity across various sectors.
This initiative comes as part of Egypt's strategy for transitioning toward clean and sustainable energy. By collaborating with global companies like Huawei, Egyptian firms seek to transfer international expertise and apply it locally to support Egypt's Vision 2030 in the fields of energy and sustainable development.
