Egypt Strengthens African Cooperation to Localize Vaccine Manufacturing and Health Security
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) participated in the fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026, which aims to enhance health cooperation among the countries of the African continent. Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, represented the authority at the event.
The conference witnessed the signing of a series of important strategic partnerships that focus primarily on localizing vaccine manufacturing within the continent. This step comes within the framework of Egypt's efforts to transfer modern medical technology and develop local manufacturing capabilities, which contributes to reducing reliance on imports.
These partnerships aim to strengthen health security in Africa by providing essential vaccines and medicines in a sustainable manner. The authority emphasizes that this cooperation opens new horizons for the exchange of scientific and technical expertise between Egypt and its sister African nations, thereby supporting the stability of health systems in the region.
These initiatives are part of Egypt's strategic vision to become a regional hub for pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing. It is expected that these agreements will lead to improved access to essential health services for citizens in Egypt and various countries across the African continent in the near future.
