President Sisi: Egypt has not used the refugee file for political goals
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that the Egyptian state has never used the refugee issue as a means to achieve any political goals. These statements came within the framework of Egypt's emphasis on its humanitarian commitment toward its guests of various nationalities living on its land.
During his speech, President Sisi stressed the importance of activating the principle of "burden-sharing" among countries, noting that hosting large numbers of refugees requires international cooperation to support host countries. He explained that Egypt bears its responsibilities toward these individuals based on its moral and humanitarian principles.
Egypt hosts millions of refugees and migrants from neighboring countries, providing them with basic services and allowing them to integrate into Egyptian society. The Egyptian government always emphasizes that these guests live among their Egyptian brothers and enjoy their full rights to movement, work, and education.
These statements come at a time when global economic challenges are increasing, placing additional pressure on countries that receive large numbers of refugees. Egypt consistently calls on the international community to provide more support and assistance to ensure the continued provision of a decent life for these refugees.
In concluding his remarks, President Sisi reiterated that Egypt will always remain a safe haven for everyone who seeks refuge in it, while stressing the need for concerted international efforts to find sustainable solutions to the crises that drive people to migrate and flee their countries.
