Egypt condemns Houthi threats and calls for maintaining regional security
The Arab Republic of Egypt has strongly condemned the recent threats issued by the Houthi group against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In an official statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed its categorical rejection of any acts that threaten the security and stability of Arab countries, emphasizing Egypt's full support for the Kingdom in facing these challenges.
Egypt warned of the danger these threats pose to international maritime navigation in the Red Sea, stressing that the continuation of these activities represents a direct threat to regional and global security. Cairo pointed out that securing international waterways is a collective responsibility that requires concerted international efforts to ensure the safety of vessels and the freedom of trade.
In a related context, Egypt emphasized the importance of prioritizing dialogue and political and diplomatic solutions to end conflicts in the region. It explained that adherence to the rules of international law is the only way to de-escalate military tensions and avoid further unrest that could affect the peoples of the region.
Egypt concluded its statement by reaffirming its firm commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability in the Middle East. It also called on the international community to take firm positions to ensure respect for the sovereignty of states and to maintain international peace and security.
