Ministry of Health announces the start of the second phase of the Universal Health Insurance system in 5 new governorates

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population has officially announced the launch of the second phase of the Universal Health Insurance project, as part of the state's plan to develop medical services and provide high-quality healthcare to all citizens across various governorates.

This new phase covers five Egyptian governorates, where hospitals and health units will be equipped with the latest medical devices to meet the needs of the population. This step aims to reduce waiting times and facilitate patients' access to necessary treatment under a comprehensive insurance umbrella.

To simplify procedures for citizens, the General Authority for Universal Health Insurance has provided simple steps for registration using the national ID card. The Ministry has also designated a unified hotline (15344) to answer citizens' inquiries, book examination appointments with family doctors, and organize referrals to specialized hospitals when needed.

In addition to the hotline, citizens can use the official website dedicated to booking, which contributes to organizing patient intake and avoiding overcrowding within health units. The Ministry calls on all residents of the governorates included in the second phase to register promptly to benefit from the available health services.

This project comes as part of Egypt's Vision 2030, which seeks to improve the standard of living for the Egyptian citizen. The government reaffirms its commitment to expanding the scope of health coverage to include all parts of the Republic in the coming years, ensuring a better healthy life for everyone.
