“Agri-Tech for Egypt” project to support 200,000 Egyptian farmers
The Agricultural Research Center in Egypt has announced the launch of a new project titled “Agri-Tech for Egypt,” which aims to provide technical and technological support to 200,000 farmers across the various governorates of the country. This project comes within the framework of the Ministry of Agriculture’s efforts to develop the agricultural sector and utilize modern technology to increase productivity.
The project seeks to enhance agricultural innovation by providing smart solutions that help farmers face climate challenges. Through the ministry’s Central Laboratory for Agricultural Climate, farmers will be provided with the necessary data and accurate information on how to deal with weather changes that affect agricultural crops.
The concept of the project relies on integrating technology into daily agricultural practices, which contributes to reducing crop loss and improving product quality. The program also aims to train farmers on modern irrigation methods and the safe and effective use of fertilizers and pesticides, ensuring the preservation of soil and water resources.
This step comes as part of the Egyptian state’s strategy to support small-scale farmers and develop the Egyptian countryside. The project is expected to contribute to improving the living standards of farmers by raising the efficiency of agricultural production, which enhances food security in the country and opens new horizons for sustainable development in the agricultural sector.
