Egypt and the United States Emphasize the Need for De-escalation in the Region

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with U.S. Special Envoy Steven Witkoff in Cairo to discuss recent developments in the Middle East. The meeting focused primarily on seeking diplomatic solutions to reduce the growing tensions in the region and ensure its stability.

During the discussions, Minister Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's firm position regarding the necessity of halting military escalation. He stressed that the continuation of conflicts threatens the security and stability of Arab nations, noting the importance of joint coordination with the United States to reach a comprehensive de-escalation as soon as possible.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister also strongly condemned all attacks targeting the Gulf states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He affirmed that Egypt rejects any actions that threaten the sovereignty of these countries or increase instability in the region, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to protect regional security.

For his part, the U.S. envoy listened to the Egyptian vision on ways to deal with the current crises. Both parties agreed to continue communication and consultation during the coming period, with the aim of supporting peace efforts and avoiding any confrontations that could lead to a deterioration of security conditions in the region.

These meetings come within the framework of the pivotal role Egypt plays as a regional mediator to bridge points of view. Cairo continues its intensive diplomatic efforts with various international parties to ensure the protection of the interests of Arab peoples and prevent the expansion of conflicts.
