Egyptian Drug Authority signs cooperation agreement with Sierra Leone to strengthen the medical sector
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has signed a new memorandum of understanding with the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone during the fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026. This step comes as part of Egypt's efforts to strengthen its relations with African countries across various medical fields.
This memorandum aims to support joint cooperation between the two countries in regulatory and pharmaceutical aspects. Through such agreements, the Authority works to exchange expertise and information to ensure the quality and safety of medicines, which contributes to the development of the pharmaceutical system as a whole.
The agreement also seeks to achieve integration between health authorities in Egypt and Sierra Leone, serving the interests of citizens in both countries. This partnership is part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to become a regional hub for pharmaceutical industries on the African continent.
It is noteworthy that the Africa Health ExCon serves as an important platform that brings together experts and officials from various countries to discuss the challenges of the health sector. These steps underscore the Egyptian state's commitment to enhancing international cooperation and developing healthcare through strategic partnerships.
