Egyptian Drug Authority reviews medical sector development plan until 2030
The Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority participated in the activities of the fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026, where he reviewed the features of the national strategy for developing the pharmaceutical sector in Egypt over the coming years.
This ambitious strategy relies on five main pillars aimed at strengthening Egypt's position as a regional hub for pharmaceutical industries. These plans come within the framework of the state's 2030 vision, which seeks to improve health services and provide high-quality medicines to citizens.
The Chairman of the Authority noted that the Egyptian pharmaceutical market is growing significantly, with its current value reaching approximately 8.5 billion US dollars. The Authority is working to support investments in this field and facilitate drug registration procedures to ensure their availability in local markets.
The conference also emphasized the importance of cooperation between African countries in the field of healthcare and the exchange of medical expertise. This participation is an important step toward boosting Egyptian pharmaceutical exports to African markets, which contributes to supporting the national economy.
These efforts conclude the state's ongoing endeavors to develop medical infrastructure and ensure the accessibility of safe and effective medicine for patients, with a focus on innovation and the localization of the pharmaceutical raw material industry within Egypt.
