Egyptian Drug Authority signs cooperation agreement with Sierra Leone to strengthen the health sector

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has signed an important memorandum of understanding with the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone, as part of the activities of the fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026. This step comes within the framework of Egypt's efforts to strengthen its relations with African countries and exchange expertise in the medical field.

This memorandum aims to consolidate cooperation between the two sides in areas of common interest, especially in the regulatory and supervisory aspects of pharmaceuticals. Through this agreement, the Authority seeks to support the development of the pharmaceutical system and ensure the quality and safety of circulating medical products.

The agreement also focuses on achieving greater integration between health authorities in both countries, which contributes to facilitating drug registration procedures and exchanging scientific information. This initiative is part of Egypt's strategy to support African nations in achieving pharmaceutical security and developing healthcare infrastructure.

It is worth noting that the Africa Health ExCon is a major platform that brings together experts and officials from various countries across the continent to discuss the challenges of the health sector. This new cooperation underscores Egypt's leading role in transferring Egyptian expertise to its brothers in Africa, further enhancing the country's position as a regional hub for pharmaceutical industries.
