Egypt condemns attempt to target Makkah and affirms its solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Arab Republic of Egypt has strongly condemned the heinous attempt to target Makkah, considering this act a flagrant violation of the sanctity of religious sites. An official statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these attempts represent a threat to the security and stability of the region and are contrary to all human and moral values and principles.
In its statement, Egypt affirmed its full support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of any threats that affect its security or the integrity of its territories. Cairo emphasized its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its holy sites and maintain the security of its citizens and visitors to the Sacred House of God.
Makkah is a sacred religious destination for millions of Muslims around the world, including thousands of Egyptians who travel there annually to perform Hajj and Umrah rituals. The Egyptian authorities consider any aggression against these lands to be an assault on the sentiments of all Muslims, which necessitates a firm international stance against these hostile acts.
In concluding the statement, Egypt called on the international community to join efforts to confront such threats aimed at destabilizing the region. It also emphasized the importance of respecting international laws and the sanctity of holy places, expressing its wishes for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people for continued security and stability.
