“Agri-Tech for Egypt” Project to Support 200,000 Egyptian Farmers
The Agricultural Research Center in Egypt has announced the launch of a new project titled “Agri-Tech for Egypt.” This project aims to provide technical and knowledge-based support to approximately 200,000 farmers across the various governorates of the country, as part of the state’s efforts to develop the agricultural sector.
The project relies primarily on integrating innovation and technology into daily agricultural operations. Those behind the initiative seek to assist farmers in facing modern challenges, especially those related to climate change, which directly affect crop quality and production volume.
This project comes in cooperation with the Central Laboratory for Agricultural Climate (CLAC) of the Ministry of Agriculture, where farmers will be provided with the latest scientific methods for sustainable agriculture. The project also aims to improve the efficiency of natural resource use, such as water and fertilizers, which contributes to increasing farmers' income and improving their standard of living.
This step is part of Egypt’s national strategy to advance agriculture, as the state recognizes the importance of the farmer’s role in achieving food security. It is expected that the use of technology will contribute to reducing crop loss, thereby enhancing the agricultural sector’s ability to compete in local and international markets.
In conclusion, the “Agri-Tech for Egypt” project represents a qualitative shift toward transforming traditional agriculture into smart and sustainable farming. Implementation phases are expected to begin soon, with a focus on training farmers and raising their awareness of the importance of adapting to environmental changes to ensure a better agricultural future.
