The fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026 witnessed a significant step in supporting the health sector in Egypt. The Egyptian Drug Authority signed a new cooperation protocol with GlaxoSmithKline Egypt, aiming to develop human competencies working in this vital field.
This protocol focuses primarily on enhancing professional training and development programs for pharmacists and those working in the pharmaceutical sector. This initiative comes within the framework of the Authority's commitment to keeping pace with the latest international standards in pharmaceutical manufacturing and ensuring the quality of services provided to citizens in Egypt.
Through this partnership, both parties also seek to exchange scientific and technical expertise, which contributes to raising the level of professional performance within pharmaceutical institutions. This collaboration is part of the Egyptian state's strategy to localize the pharmaceutical industry and develop national cadres to meet the needs of the local and African markets.
At the conclusion of the events, officials emphasized that this cooperation reflects the Egyptian Drug Authority's commitment to collaborating with the private sector to develop the healthcare system. The results of these trainings are expected to have a positive impact on the quality of medicines available in Egyptian pharmacies in the coming period.
