Egypt condemns Houthi threats and emphasizes the importance of Red Sea security
The Arab Republic of Egypt has strongly condemned the recent threats issued by the Houthis towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In an official statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed its complete rejection of these statements, which increase tension in the region.
Egypt stressed the necessity of respecting the freedom of international navigation in the Red Sea, noting that these waterways are a vital artery for global trade and the Egyptian economy. Cairo also warned that the continuation of these threats poses a direct danger to the security and stability of the entire region.
Egypt called on the international community to take serious and effective steps to ensure the security of maritime navigation, emphasizing the importance of implementing UN Security Council resolutions related to Yemen. It explained that stabilizing the situation in Yemen is the key to ending these threats and protecting international interests.
Other Arab countries have joined the Egyptian position, expressing their full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in facing these challenges. These unified positions underscore the importance of joint Arab action to maintain regional security and prevent any attempts to destabilize strategic waterways.
