Intensive inspection campaigns in Minya to regulate markets and protect citizens' health
The Governor of Minya announced the implementation of widespread inspection campaigns on markets and commercial shops across various centers of the governorate, as part of the state's efforts to regulate prices and ensure the safety of food products offered to citizens.
These campaigns resulted in the issuance of 12 violation reports against offenders, as regulatory authorities were able to seize more than half a ton of meat and fish unfit for human consumption. The necessary legal measures have been taken against the owners of these shops to ensure that such violations are not repeated.
This step comes in response to citizens' complaints and out of the governorate's keenness to prevent the sale of spoiled goods that could harm the health of consumers. Authorities confirmed that the campaigns will continue periodically and unexpectedly in all markets to ensure that merchants adhere to the required health standards.
Executive agencies in Minya Governorate continue to coordinate with the Supply Directorate and Veterinary Medicine to intensify oversight, especially with the approach of seasons that see increased demand for food products.
At the conclusion of these campaigns, the governorate called on citizens to report any violations they observe in the markets, emphasizing that food safety is a top priority for maintaining public health in Egyptian society.
