Egyptian Drug Authority signs cooperation agreement with Sierra Leone to strengthen the medical sector
The Egyptian Drug Authority has signed a new memorandum of understanding with the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone, on the sidelines of the fifth edition of the Africa Health ExCon 2026 conference and exhibition. This step comes within the framework of Egypt's continuous efforts to strengthen its relations with African countries in the health sector.
The agreement aims to exchange expertise and information between the two sides in the fields of pharmaceutical regulation and oversight. Through this cooperation, both parties also seek to support the development of the pharmaceutical system in both countries and ensure the quality and safety of medicines circulating in the markets.
This memorandum is part of Egypt's strategy to enhance African integration in the medical sector, as the Egyptian Drug Authority seeks to unify efforts with regulatory bodies on the continent. This partnership is expected to contribute to facilitating drug registration procedures and developing cooperation in areas of common interest.
It is worth noting that the Africa Health ExCon has become an important platform that brings together experts and officials from various countries on the continent to discuss public health challenges. This agreement underscores the leading role that Egypt plays in supporting the African health sector and developing pharmaceutical industries across the continent.
