Egypt condemns Houthi threats and emphasizes the importance of Red Sea security
The Arab Republic of Egypt has strongly condemned the recent threats issued by the Houthis towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In an official statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed its complete rejection of these statements, which increase tension in the region.
Egypt stressed the necessity of respecting the freedom of international navigation in the Red Sea, noting that these waterways are a vital artery for global trade and the Egyptian economy. Cairo explained that regional stability depends primarily on securing these maritime routes from any external threats.
Egypt also called on the international community to take serious steps to implement UN Security Council resolutions regarding Yemen. It emphasized that a political solution is the only way to end the Yemeni crisis and ensure the security and stability of neighboring countries.
Other Arab countries have joined the Egyptian position, expressing their concern over the continued Houthi threats. These countries emphasize the importance of adhering to international laws and maintaining regional security to ensure the safety of maritime navigation for all.
