President Sisi: Egypt has not used the refugee file for political goals
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that the Egyptian state has never resorted to using the refugee issue as a means to achieve any political gains or objectives. These statements came within the framework of Egypt's emphasis on its consistent positions regarding dealing with the refugee crisis witnessed in the region.
President Sisi stressed that Egypt hosts large numbers of refugees of various nationalities and provides them with basic services and a decent life within Egyptian society, stemming from its humanitarian and moral responsibility towards its brothers from neighboring countries.
The President also called for the necessity of activating the principle of "burden-sharing" among the countries of the world, noting that the refugee crisis is a shared international responsibility that requires effective cooperation from the international community to support host countries that bear significant economic pressures as a result of these numbers.
