Sisi affirms Egypt's support for Libya's stability and territorial integrity
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed Cairo's full commitment to supporting Libya's stability during his meeting with the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh. This visit comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
During the meeting, President Sisi emphasized Egypt's firm stance regarding the Libyan crisis, which aims to preserve Libya's territorial integrity and sovereignty. He also stressed the importance of the withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from the country to ensure the achievement of lasting security and stability for the Libyan people.
For his part, the Libyan Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Egypt's pivotal role in supporting the political process in Libya. Both sides pointed to the necessity of concerted international and regional efforts to reach comprehensive national elections that meet the aspirations of the Libyans and end years of division.
