Minister of Electricity Discusses Strengthening Renewable Energy Projects in Sinai
Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, held an important meeting with a delegation from the "Renergy Group" consortium to discuss the latest developments in renewable energy projects in the Sinai Peninsula. This meeting comes within the framework of the Egyptian state's plan to expand the use of clean energy sources and reduce reliance on traditional fuels.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the executive steps for new projects aimed at generating electricity from environmentally friendly sources. The Minister emphasized the importance of these partnerships with the private sector, noting that Sinai possesses significant potential in the fields of solar and wind energy, making it a strategic region for attracting investments in this vital sector.
Both parties also discussed the challenges that may face the implementation of these projects and ways to overcome obstacles to ensure rapid completion. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat stressed the necessity of adhering to the specified timeline, while emphasizing the application of the highest international quality standards in building new plants to ensure the sustainability of electricity supply.
These efforts are part of Egypt's 2030 strategy, which aims to increase the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix.
